Huh, it's been several turns since anyone has said anything. Would one insult be too much to ask for? You DS guys still hanging in? Hello?

Yep, we're still here :)
Actually, last few turns have not been too bad considering ;)
Nate, who used to post here occasionally had to drop for personal reasons (but his position was taken over). I guess the rest of us don't have anything to say :D

You could say "We surrender" or at least put up some defence :)

Corsairs triedbut I overextended. Took up the position with 97% taxes and a huge overdraft.

Aaah, the curse of the dreaded pick up position... you force the original to drop (hmm, maybe he just dropped for his own reasons) and the new ruler comes along and mixes up the rules!!!
Shame, you didn't join us and help finish the game quicker, but the outcome won't change unless we do something really wrong... I really should communicate with my teamates :)

That is the nature of Harley's drop rule. You pound out an opponent and they just put a more competent player in the position.

..But the more competant player can be a god send to the recieving team.. For example, the new witch king in this game has really kept his postion going, albeit in mordor not angmar ( But not for long ) 8-)

He he he... but not for long :) I like it.

Now where's the fun in ending the game early. Besides I'd have sided with the team that had an arrangement in place automatically. Ultimately I hope I at least made the game a little more interesting.

Thats very true, I hope the game doesn't prematurely end :) You DS guys have been putting up a damn good fight. Shame you joined with the DS, but hey it has made the game very interesting down that area.

Well I did try. I had a lot of problems with negotiations and had to offload an srty the QA had given the Corsairs before I got to a neutral setting again. Like I said there was nothing concrete. Suppose with evryone going Free it felt like my hand was being forced to do the same, megalomania does that you know. One moment of clarity or maybe insanity had me penning in attack Harad the only other neutral before declaring. To my knowledge he'd still not made a declaration himself whilst the nation was viable. As long as its making the game better for you thats cool!

Let's face it, had either Easterlings or Corsairs gone free then the game would've been over in no time at all and I think been the worse for it.
As it is, I've had a heck of a lot of fun - the most in any game of ME, mainly because of the great team I've been on - even though the writing's been on the wall that we've lost for ages now :D

As they say..its not the winning but taking part that counts..

Sorry - my silence was because I forgot my password and login!!
Even though the writing has burned through the wall it has been a great game and the team has been great fun to lose with! Definitely on for a rematch although keen to keep going for now.

Rematch sounds good to me.. As long as I don't get the WK.

What can I say... part of the game is convincing the neutrals to join you so you can mash the oposition... I don't play to have a long drawn out even match that takes ages and is BORING!!!...
But that's the price of an evolving game... it seems a very different game since email has been around... back in postal days, people were much more ruthless about games... newsletters brought players closer together and people worked together a lot more closely.
You guys have done well to hang around after the opening few turns, but that's got to be partly our fault. We've become slightly blase and forgotten to kill the game... but we're working on that now... so start the clock... your time's ticking.

Damn, now it's even quieter than before. Maybe 'cause there are a few less major DS characters to speak about?

Who needs a visit. My guys are all on extended package tours. Just sit tight am sure your pops are on the itinerary... Corsairs were awesome, but with over 10k a turn down the tubes and 97% taxes was gonna be a rush job to see if they survived.
