Why hasn't there been a thread for Game 79?
Let the taunting begin.
I shall taunt you Freeps in your general direction! :p

Since no one has responded to my previous post I will submit one.
Regent Tarondor and poor Brand met their untimely ends at Minas Ithil. Who shall fall next to the Dark Servant assassins?
BTW, nice work at Morannon.

I am suprised from the silence.
Celdrahil,
You sure are lucky, you must have nine lives. But don't worry, our long knives will skin the cat soon enough.
Elladan,
for every commander you kidnap, I will kidnap two. It seems like all you want to do is kidnap while I was being nice and just assassinating. I will do that no longer. Ji Indur is willing to play the kidnap  game too. Mahrcared and Aluiric will be tormented just for Araudāgūl's sake. I have my sights set on other kidnapees for I am sure that I can kidnap more characters than you can.

Sorry, the guys are quiet (Mark is the only one you'll get to reply if you're lucky - the others can just about turn up at a meet!) and I'm anxious that this will be jumped on... :o
Probably the game is yours IMO - the early mess up by a team-mate has basically swung it very much in your favour and we're desperately catching up. Very good dragon play on your part btw.
Pretty sure you can get more than us on the agent front. but I doubt you can compete on the troop front... :D

Thanks for finally responding!
You are right about the number of troops we have been facing.
The number of heavy cavalry armies you have been fielding has been just short of amazing. We are thanking our massive reptile friends for being the great equalizer.

Elrond, (or whomever did it)
Thank you for hiding Carach Angren for us. We were puzzled by your action of hiding our camp but then again, you thought you were going to win that last army action didn't you? Like I said in my last post, THANK SAURON for those gnarly reptilian freep army eaters! :) They sure have an appetite don't they!
I guess it finally looks like we can have a knife fight at you know where. My knives are sharper and longer.

Suprise! Poor Elladan was slower to the draw and his life has been removed from Middle-Earth forever. Who will be next?

No real surprise - well at least the double has gone.
Can you count to 20? Interesting defence - not sure who's going to pull this off. If we can then the game is ours (probably), if you can the game is yours (probably).
Any time you guys want to buy stuff on the market feel free to tell us... :D

Clint,
It was a shame that poor Dudanis got sick and died before my agent could slit his throat. I wonder who else will just 'up and die' on us?

You tell me... :-) Zevious? Hardest turn logistically ever - so thanks for that gem...
Hopefully Barad Ungol falls this turn so that should be interesting and probably game defining.
5 Curses - isn't that not the best number - something go wrong?

Good turn boys?
Mark,
I have finally drawn you out of hiding! :) You know the saying," those that live by the dagger, DIE by the dagger."
Ji Indur shall be missed but, he has lots of company in the grave, amongst them Gildor, Elladan, Dudannis, Fujiko, etc(the ones I can name off the cuff)
Other than Ji Indur's demise, the turn went about as expected. Nice job on the hostage rescues. I won't make that mistake again.

Shame it wasn't Zevious!
About expected - that bad for you then? :D
Not sure how fast we can kill the camps that you are rushing to get sorted but we'll see.

Greetings Elrond and company,
I bid Welcome to the newest operating curse/sickness/weakness squad. That one took us by suprise.
How do you like my agents? I went 80% on my attempts this past turn. I am trying to get my "snuffing" average up to 100%. Maybe this turn I can do better.

Clint,
With 20,000 freep troops in and around Mordor that's a stupid question! :o
It sure looks like it to me. So what If have no arms and no legs, I can still bite you to death!

Um - looks like you haven't seen all the turns yet - only 20k... :p There were 20k at Barad Ungol a couple of turns ago and there's more now. Doesn't matter what happens - 20k troops on BU and I'm a happy bunny.

Hey Clint,
Can you believe it? :D I always wanted to kill Elrond, and we finally got our chance last turn! I can't wait to put you guys out of your misery so we can swap turns at the end of this game so I can read about his demise. I know cursing isn't as sexy as assinations but we will take what we can get, and boy have you guys been delivering it to us! My assassins are starting to get into the swing of it and I am racking up a nice kill total.

No respnse about the death of Elrond? How about the death of one of the twins? I can't wait to see what suprises you have in store for us this turn. So far, this game has been VERY interesting and extremely lively.

He's just an elf - down a couple of pointy ears. As you say interesting game. If only we had the Corsairs this game would be so done and dusted. As it is I reckon it's 55/45 in our favour at present.
So how many agent kills did you get - I think it was net 2 in your favour... :p

Clint (player),
I agree, we would be doomed right now if the Corsairs was still playing. It has been bad enough trying to try to help the Harad and QA without the Corsairs. I shudder the thought if the Corsairs was still active in the game. I had never mentioned it before because I didn't want you to know we have known he has been out a number of turns now. What we have been scratching our heads about is what put him out? (no answer needed, just a rhetorical q) Our best guess was that he went bankrupt because of some caravan buys or something along those lines.

Are you enjoying the challenge of this game? ME79 has been the most fun in years for my teammates. You guys are GOOD, literally and figuratively. :) We can't believe that you haven't conceded defeat yet ;) Don't you know it is hopeless for you?

Prove that it's over... :-)
We think we've got a decent chance of impacting on your economies big time soon and we're not quite sure what that will mean to the game but we are ever hopeful.
Mordor has proven more resilient than we thought (slight error slowed the onlsaught not attacking the DkL near Carach Angren - not under my control I might add) and it's interesting to go so long into a grudge game...
I think we've got a decent chance at a win so we'll stick to it. It's a cool challenge for us and we're learning lots about team co-ordination so we're happy - you should see our meets!
If you want to call it a draw I can ask the team? Thanks for the comments - it's a good team and despite the mess up with the Corsairs the best we've played so far.

Clint (player),
How to prove it you shall see, eventually! I was not suggesting an offer of a draw. We like the challenge. In many of our other games it would have been decided around now with the other team conceding defeat. You have already lost, but you just don't know it yet ;) ( I had to throw that taunt in)
Where you are doing well militarily, we are doing very well character-wise. Yes, you have taken a number of mordor capitals, one nation twice, but not one DS has been put out of the game. I will make a bet with you that life will become very hairy for a particular Free nation very shortly. I have NEVER seen a FP team put out as many camp busting small cavalry armies (and some hi) that your team has. Kudos on making it a very interesting game.

Clint,
Thanks for the great game. We were just about to take that Sinda City. We were also looking forward to a very long game. I did not expect a concession this soon. Was Northern Gondor starting to get worried about all of his characters getting kidnapped? I think we were up to seven NG characters and soon to add more.
Do you think that your team would be interested in swapping pdfs from all the earlier turns? I have compiled a zip folder for each turn from T0 till now including all nations pdfs. Each turn is about 900K.

Yep it seems likely that the Sindar pc would go. It was a good game.
I doubt the team want to swap turns though - they're generally just not up for that.
The reason we conceded - basically with the Corsair dead early on our real play was to try and take out nations of yours. You kept them alive and effectively managed to keep a decent economy throughout. Your dragon play was the best we've come across and that held us up. I'd estimate around 8 turns to take out the rest of Mordor but you're popping up b/ups as fast as we can take them.
NG - that was me - nope no problem at all there - for most of the game with NG I had max characters - never seen it for me before! You hardly impacted on our characters at all - but that's part of the strategy. I thought you guys did a great defence of Mordor - our team made a wopper of a mistake (not me I'm glad to say!) not attacking the DkL at 3222 so basically that was the difference between the plains' Pcs going or not.
Learnt a lot from this game and our team is better than ever so we're cool with that.
Agent wise we had some bad luck but things swing so we're not complaining. I think with the Corsair alive we'd have won comfortably but that's part of the game - we made an error, you capitalised on it and won the game. Heartfelt congratulations - there goes our 100% record but heh next time uh?! :-) LoL

I must say -- all our dragon encounters wheren't that good -- lost Murazor and believe two other starting characters to dragons right away -- if could have gotten a dragon or two on one of my army's think would have held on to Angmar at least two turns more :) -- never seen so many troops so fast in any game i have ever been in !! We didn't have the luxtury of having group meetings as most of live all across US -- most of the credit for Victory on our side would have to go to Brian and John -- those two are the best i have ever seen at coordinating strategies and stuff !!
This Old dog ME player actually learned alot from this game and from Brian and John !! Kudo's to all -- Great Game !!

Greetings,
To all in the free from this game. I am interested in trading pdfs. I was playing the Cloud Lord and the Dog Lord. My wife was playing the Dragon Lord. Would any of you be willing to trade pdfs? If so, please let me know.
Thanks for a good game.
