Dearest HappyMadCat,

still waiting for your Arthedain troops. Ji Indur is very politically minded. It is his opinion that regime change is required in several nations of Middle Earth. They just all happen to be those of the "Free People" (sic). ;)

As to Real Life, You and Wade are correct. I should not have brought politics into this forum. People play MEPBM for an escape from the real world I guess. Also, I support and respect the men and women of our armed forces. I sincerely thank you for serving. I'll leave it at that in the forum so that you can have the last word.

braaaayyy (again)

Dave,

Arthy troops got lost when they mutinied after marching past a pole dancing
establishment. Must be the hobbit girls with hairy toes! Nothing further
needs to be said about the political comment..

-Turn 15's coming up and I still see DS PC's in the West. I don't see this huge Pouring of FP troops into Mirkwood. I do see 5 EO MT's down, and every Corsair PC about to fall, I see no help for the poor Northman who’s about to lose every PC he started with...and still turn 15 not a single Mordor PC has fallen under attack. If things are boring its cause Mr. Happy can't bring it.....

Don't forget: Arth is marching against the Cloud Lord. Perhaps he went the "long way" around and sailed west. I should tell the Blind Sorcerer to be watching the eastern edge of the map for Arthedainian troops after they circumnavigate the globe...

Exactly, far better things to do then attack the remaining Agmar holdings,
they're not worth it.. Ironlord; you just aint funny or realisitc, what does it

What part of what I stated was not realisitc?

And if 2006 is not worth it then why do you have 3 armies at 1806? R&R?
Worry not those armies wont make it to 2006 and you will be down at least 3 more commanders.

Not very hard to 949 a MT even with your level of skill.

Woodmen and EO are shells of nations. Corsairs will be a shell soon.
This is the most one-sided game that I have ever played in of my 75+ games.
I am having fun though. Icing on the cake is the FP posted out here while the DS are handing the FP "their nuts in a sack every turn"

Frankly, it's all over but for the fat lady singing. Perhaps the FP hold out hope they'll achieve a one-ring victory? Other than that faint hope (and OMG do the DS have the character advantage... pity the ringbearer...), there is very little that the FP can hope for now.

Of course, there is that sneak-attack by the Arthedainians circumnavigating the globe.... Maybe that is what we're waiting on...

[QUOTE=happymadcat]1806 is the Hobbit lapdancing establishment, how many times do I have

this is a tried & true DS strategy:

Strategically place lapdancing establishments in the way of oncoming FP armies. For some reason, the officers just can not resist stopping. The officers go into the club but never come out again... After a while, the troops give up waiting on the officers and shamble on home. *poof* no more army.

Oh... I hear this works with naval officers as well.

Your play makes no difference to anyone but yourself. Patting yourself on the back, as you allies are reduced to shells shows that full well.
Several FP are nations are in ruins and you have not even kicked the WK/Rhudaur completely out of Angmar.
Soon you will have 4-5 nations recruiting HI off their charity capitals in Lindon.

Nicely done, were you the mastermind of the FP strategy in this game?
If your talent matched your mouth then perhaps you could have made this a better game.

1. How many msgs the FP yahoo site has to date, and
2. What the total for March was

DaveHolt

So as we've now seen turn 15,

Military / Economy

the South is on the road to total DS domination and control
Mordor is stronger than in any game I can recall
Mirkwood is on the road to total DS domination and control
Rhun is ok for the NM for now... My bet is he's outta there in 5 turns (that's turn 20 if you want to keep track and call me on my prediction later)
The Gondors own their homelands
The FP own the west
The war economy of the DS is stronger than any game I can recall

Characters

The DS control all but one agent/stealth artie
The DS control all but one curse artie (good one there Brad... sigh)
We're continueing to add to the K/A count at a good clip each turn. The number of character orders available to the FP is approx 2 nations lower than that available to the DS each turn now.

Thus, one thing is now clear: the only real hope the FP have is the One Ring. So... you're gonna need a WHOLE LOT of character power you don't have to get it and take it to Mt Doom... Though it is unfortunate that you now have that curses artifact... sigh again...

I guess those NE mages who didn't locate the agent & curse arties to start with have been honing their LAT skills in preparation for the one true artifact hunt... Won't it be funny when you LAT it at the bottom of the lake in Mordor? ROFL... ok, that's not a prediction, but it would be a "murphy's law" kind of outcome...

anyway, cheers to the FP. you guys have more gumption and self-confidence than could be expected.

Well, more like 10,000 if you include the *funny* navy bit too... Pelargir's got itself a little crime wave, I'm guessing... Interesting strategy all together, though. Steal me blind while I have 50,000 in army costs and then bug out when I have none. And don't listen to John. But on the other hand with an NE agent company in the area hitting DS
capitols it wasnt a good idea to move the mages back to the captiol.. If
you were there to name mages sending 1 without any spirit arties would
have been a better choice.. It was a calculated guess you would be
greedy and move back a few mages to name mages.. We all live and

VEO

There were a lot of mages on the BS capital. With the agent hitting miscellaneous capitals in Mordor, well, it was certainly interesting. My previous question was rhetorical, as I wasn't tracking Elenruth for the purpose of grabbing it. We have a couple LA mages who pick off interesting toys at random, and Elenruth was LA'd close to there the turn or so before. I used my weakest mage to steal it, thinking "What are the odds it's here". We all found out the odds. Lucky, I guess ;) Yes, as Guy implied, there is always lots to learn.. ;)

I used my weakest mage to steal it, thinking "What are the odds it's here". We all found out the odds. Lucky, I guess ;) Yes, as Guy implied, there is always lots to learn.. ;)

You stole with a mage? Wow, you have some serious super mage
super powers Brad! This game remind me of a certain African country
when my squad was ordered to hold a bridge at all costs with 20k+
rebels desperate to break through to the city beyond. A dark time, when
even hopes were counted in dead bodies. No mercy asked no mercy
given.. The DS wont get a surrender if ME was the real world and its so
much easier to fight on in fantasy.. Dont you think?

In the real world, surrender can be worse than a clean death in battle.

In the fantasy world of ME, surrender frees up some time and $$$ for the next war.

The self fancied mighty DragonPoo is under the false impression he is
busting my chops in this game, didnt you mother breast feed you when
you were young? Not only that but speaks so much smack its hard
to believe anything he ever says.. So you have more then 1300 dragons
John? You're so full of it I wouldnt be suprised if the US government
declares a state of emeregency and a 5 mile health risk exclusion zone
around you.

Now if you're gonna talk smack try to make either interesting or funny,
both preferably.. Please look up interesting and funny in the dictionary
as you obviously have no idea what they mean :D

I'm not sure what breast feeding has to do with this game, but um-okay...

The dragon post was an exaggeration, something you're quite good at as you do it almost every time you string 3 words together.

Funny, funny, funny you keep talking about this? Yet if you think you have been the funny Guy of 16, I’m afraid to report you’re having some off the self-fancied ideas your point a finger at me about. You have done little more then piss folks off, including most of your own team from what I hear. The DS are not the only people talking about you....it just seem I’m the only sucker actually talking with you. Something I should change….but I just love bad hobbits. You nasty little bugger you…

Resorting to childish insults speaks volumes about your ability to express yourself as an adult.
Of course since your team is getting their ass kicked, I guess you really cant talk about the game.

Later in the summer, I should be down to only a few games will be happy to play either you or the other "blathering mouth" in BOFA for money if you have the backbone for it. It is the only scenario that is suited for a 1-on-1 challenge.

Ditto from me. Steve is an outstanding MEPBM player and has contributed significantly to the winning DS strategy in PoWeR 16. I'd play with him on my team any game, any time, and would seek him out as a team mate (unless he wanted me to play 2950... LOL)

Ironlord, we are choosing to concede not give up, there is a difference, more players believed greener pastures would be available in new games rather than really attempt something not going so well, others wanted to keep fighting it would have been selfish to force them to keep going... :)

No one is laying ANY blame at your hoofs Brad, I agree with all the touchy
feely bit. In the end of the day us FP's as a team didnt recognise the
danger of the North Mirkwood offensive, that combined with exellent DS

The market manipulation was the best I have ever seen and my Team Aussie compardres are pretty good at it. Really?? Id love to know how, you expected to take my capital?..

A WK cav. army is siting at 1602 this turn.

For two turns, Arth was capital hit by agents and curse's and is now clear of armies and commandes at 1407/1409 and the PC's near by.

The WK is landing on 1407 this turn and would take it. Most likely by threaten as Ashub has a 220 command skill. Curse Company #1 as we call it and Khamuls RoW company holding CL, IK, DrL agents where coming to vist, to knock out all your chars at both Tharbad and your capital. Two 70 point IK agents where moving to the towers/camps on the road between Arth capital and Cardys capital to blow the tower. That makes the road clear for one turns march for the WK cav. army at 1407 the following turn. Bridge was blown below you this turn to stop the Dun from helping you.

Good chance your capital would have fell in 3 turns, Happies would have fell in 2....well at least that was the plan. I also planed NOT to lose 2715 but um...my dragons when to the EO-plex not Duran and we know what happened there.

hehe indeed, like Guy said, the untouched nations couldnt be selfish enough to keep the game alive when the others wanted to concede, guess we will never know what would have happened, in the NW.would we..

I think you make a good point that we might not know *when* stuff would happen in the NW, as you guys would have thrown all kinds of interesting obstacles in our path... But we do know *what* would have happened as the situation in the rest of the map is deteriorating so rapidly, that the *what* is a forgone conclusion. We were definitely in a snowballing situation with more pops going into DS hands each turn than being lost, with more chars (and their orders) being lost each turn by the FP, etc. While the economy is huge, we could have made it not so in the not too distant future to make it even more difficult for you guys... No, I think the *what* is known, but you're right that the *when* is debatable.

You guys (thankfully) chose to end it and gracefully concede. Thank you! We all enjoyed it very much and I'm sure if it was to be played over again, it'd be much tougher as you guys definitely came together (from our perspective) somewhere in the turn 6-10 area with more cohesive and interesting challenges to us.

The only chance for the FP (IMHO) was a one-ring victory, and as always, that's a real long shot, would have cost a lot of real $$$, and so again, thank you for ending the game!

cheers,
