Total skill INCLUDING artifacts. This has been proven time and time
again by various experienced vets, including rocket scientist ;)
and every time I have recruited a dragon it has worked.
Yes, agent arties will add, Yes the Pectoral will add, Command and
Challenge are irrelevant. A 20 com 45 emiss will get the dragon over
the 64 commander with a sword and a huge challenge (presuming they are
both Army Commanders).
The dragon joins the ARMY as a "character travelling with" and is
treated as such, excepting he leaves on his own whimsy. The dragon
will be transferred as such if Command is transferred.
Therefore, Dragon's do not follow individuals.
EVERYTHING has random factors. Accept that, go with what is known*.
Anyone have an example of a FP recruiting a dragon other than
Scorba and Throkmaw? Indisputable evidence? Until then, see * above.

Did your 37 commander have any secondary skills?
Again, the total skill rank is conclusive, but odd things happen,
just like a 55 commander may fail an "easy" 185 order.....nothing
is certain...
Scratch the sub commander idea. He and the dragon are now bunking
together....

RD: I once had a Noldo E30 meet Turukulon. Expecting to him die instantly,
I told him to say (one word only remember): BOLLOCKS!
Turukulon went on to join Elrond's army and cause mayhem amongst the
Witch-king's forces. Ah, I wish!

Thanks for that - come to that conclusion myself, shame really. I now
understand that its the total power of the characters involved, Dragons
obviously have a shallow outlook on love.
Does anyone know at what point in the turn the Dragon makes the decision?
Is it before or after command is transferred? I'm thinking of understanding
which army a Dragon will join in its first turn if commanders are moving
around.
Thanks
Simon

Hi Simon,
Everything I have experienced causes me to believe the dragon makes his
decision on which army to join at the point you recruit him - order 285.
(After combat and before transfer command/hire army/split army)

Ah well, I'll just have to put up with having 2 tactical nukes in the 1

Bollocks are the veg part of "meat and two veg". :-)

"Bollocks" is a British word which can be
used both as an expletive and as a noun
(both of which are not in polite use). Used
to describe the male testes, the word used
as a put-down as in "a load of bollocks".
It is a statement made to have finality to
it.
Sort of what General McAuliffe would have
said at the siege of Bastogne during the
Battle of the Bulge had he been British
instead of American.
Could also be that Elrond was a Sex Pistols
fan...
