rather strangely we've actually enjoyed a rather sunny day here in Scotland, probably won't last no doubt the rain will be falling from all directions by tomorrow.

Maybe it's all those Germans over for the World Bowl who brought the sunshine with them?

Greetings to all from the Great Nation of the Dwarven Empire of Middle Earth. We call ourselves an Empire as our far flung digs have taken us across the northern reaches of these lands. Our next 'Big Dig' is planned expansion into those mountains of Mordor & beyond. We hear that room there is a bit tight, a few dogs roaming free & the weather is frightfully hot at times, but we stout warriors shall prevail. Not about to let a few dusty old Nazgul stand in the way.

To the great nations of Haradwaith, Rhuduar, Dunlending, the Corsairs & Easterlings, the Dwarven Empire greets you with a fair hello & invites you to the halls of Khaza-dum to lift a few ales in celebration in our victory for the free peoples of Middle Earth, the Dark Servants are already dead, they just don't know it!! Please join us in this celebration & the spoils of war & adventure as well as the glory of victory shall be shared to all who side with the free.

Glory of Victory < raises tankard of ale >!

Greetings Arfanhil,

Do not let the sly words of that Gixxer ( he should use only 2 x's & save some for the rest of us ) sway you so easily. The Free never lie, except when embellishing tales of conquest over them Dark Servants. An emmisary shall be dispatched immediatly to your halls to hopefully be received in good standings.

I beleive I might be of assistance in stating that we here on the U.S. East Coast ( that little place called Connecticut ) have been lucky enough to receive two Junes worth of rain so far. Very soggy here. However, our spirits are bright as we begin this new test of wills amongst us.

Yours in service

Hail All (yes even you freeps)!!!!

Adunaphel here, and believe me, when I'm here, I'm really here!!!! I want to wish an especially warm welcome to the Corsairs, Harad, Easterlings, Dunlendings and Rhudaur. Join us, it's really warm here (it's always warm where ever I am, just ask old Gixxxer), and with you on our side, we'll fanquish those elf loving war mongers. For we of the nine, are not warmongers, our Lord Sauron is the very essence of what everyone calls an "Equal Opportunity Employer". Just look at the nine, it covers the whole spectrum, from the beautiful (me) to the extremely ugly (Hoarmurath). Now look at the elves, they just want pretty boys. They only tolerate the ugly dwarves (have you ever seen a dwarven woman without a beard? I think NOT!) because they bring them pretty trinkets. And just look at what the free stand for, truth and justice. Is that all there is in life? What about parties? What about getting extremely drunk and picking up the local barmaid? (No barmaid for you, Angamaite darling, I'm here for you, and you too, Ossim Rallah baby) Think about it, a month long kegger at Minas Anor with Elrond the serving boy bringing us mugs of ale. We will have Bain as our waitress, bringing us platters full of roast Tarondor (I know he'll taste like chicken). Just imagine the fun. Or, join the boring free and never party again.

Ha, ha, ha

do you really think that the emissaries from the Corsairs, Dunlendings, Harad, Easterlings and Rhudaur wants to need to bend down while walking through you tunnels ?

Welcome at Mordor,
you won't have do bend down while moving through well-climated passages to your suites.
The suites are for sure climated, will have a big bar ( instead of this mini-bars ( I guess this dwarfs have mini,mini-bars ), a vibrating bed with a size of 3 X 3 m and if you want with some really nice girls ( or boys, demons, that depends on you ).
For sure it's all inclusive and without costs for you !

Please let us know where our dragons should take you up for this Mordor-vacation !

Ah yes indeed, the pretty one has arrived again ( hopefully handbagless )

My dear Icemeister our halls are amongst the tallest in all of Middle Earth. Whilest your great castles can certainly boast of vaulted ceilings, being above ground still limits the true archetural possibilities. Why you only have to look to Moria to see how vast & deep we Dwarves can really carve the stone. So there is no need to frighten all those free loving yet undecided potential allies out there into thinking they will be entertained in dusty old caves. We entertain grandly within the Dwarven empire!

Speaking of entertainment, Since when do the dead party?!? Perhaps you speak of the illusion of such grand things but please!!! We dwarves invented ALE & PARTYING!!! We even drink during battle! It adds to the thirst! Yes , my friends the elves do enjoy that weak wine stuff, but a good ale, a stout pony & a broad axe makes for a fine nights outing!! You just have to be careful on how you drink & ride, don't want to spill any ale to the ground.

Off to plan my first party!

Oh a new outfit,
not a rotting Bain anymore ?

But what should it be, a dwarve ?

or a Harley-Davidson-biker ?

or maybe a dwarve riding a Harley ?

I hope you know that you can't use motobikes instead of mounts.
I'm sure you don't know about this, you're a Frep.

Oh I forgot, dwarven Cavalry it's impossible you don't have Shetland-ponies there in your caves.
One suggestion : use robe ladders to reach the saddle !

And please send me a photo when your army is dismounting from the horses, could be amusing !-

( He, he, only the imagination is really amusing, some dwarves astride their steeds and not knowing how to reach the secure ground !

One tip : Let them fall out of the saddles, also in the case they will reach the ground with their head first, there's not much to damage inside )

Your halls under the earth they should be impressive ?

What can you offer in this halls except for bad air ?

Some drunken dwarfes ?

Little known facts of Middle Earth Vol I

In the beginning of Hoarmurath’s career, before his latter day fame and fortune, he played the part of “The Chicken Lord”, a struggling young actor. In those early days he could not afford his future “Ring of Power” and had to content himself with the lesser “Ring of Effervescence”. He appeared in such C-Grade films as “Eat my Drumstick” and “Plucked and Stuffed”. But it wasn’t until he swapped his trademark “Ring of Effervescence” for the “5th Ring of Power”, and changed his name to the Ice King that he landed his most memorable role in “Gone in 60 seconds…….. a love story”. His latest film sees him return to the short film genre, and involves lots of pointy implements, a few twists, and a surprise ending. Don’t miss “Dain does Durthang”……….

Here at last Gerhard. Let the games begin :-J

No. You should read more books.
Little known facts of Middle Earth Vol II

.... in Sauron's mind a vision of the future did take shape. And with fell magics he wrought his vision upon the Middle Earth. First came the "rings of power", handsome creations of precious metals and gems. When his mighty labours were complete, Sauron did hug himself joyfully, and did bibe much cafe latte with his poetry reading classmates. Then it was suggested that such glorious creations should be accessorised, and so Sauron wrought the "handbags of power". 9 there were, bright and colourful, with partitions for makeup, credit cards, and shopping. And then in a moment of pure genious, Sauron did conceive of the potent - "girdle of power", adventurous "Mini skirt of Power", and the playful as a kitten "Lingerie of Power". Giddy as a schoolgirl he did launch his fashion war upon the Middle Earth.......

>You're playing the Gondorians ( both ) ?

Yes I am playing the Gondorians.... both of them. I'm also as it happens playing the Arthedain, Sinda, and the Dwarves. I'm playing the Noldo, Cardolan and all the other freep. I'm also playing the Easterling, Dunlendings and Rhudaur. In actual fact I'm the "Agent Smith" of Middle Earth. Ummmm, you don’t fight against chickens. You whack them over the head, stuff them with bread and an onion, then you eat them. I’ve watched my wife do it, they definitely don’t fight, it seems to be a fairly business like relationship to me :-)

Adunaphel Here,

Freeps, sometimes even we don't know what Gixxxer is saying. We just know that when he's drooling he wants to kill some freeps. So, we drag him in front of all the freep women we capture (although, he doesn't (and I don't blame him) like those bearded dwarven women) and he starts drooling and then he'll go off and kill someone. It's simple, effective and it does get rid of some of the more troublesome freeps.:D

The DS have a certain problem, they've only got 20 digits so anything above that is just ummm lots and lots. So when two armies of lots and lots face off against each other, the DS think it's going to be a bloody stalemate. Fact of the matter is that the DS are the ones that get killed down to the last sheep, so it's a bit hard to count the enemy's losses no matter how many fingers you've got (when you're dead). In the chill hour of dawn a crowd gathered in the growing light. Tonn Varthkur, a healthy mage stepped forward calling challenge. Tarondor a healthy and surprisingly good looking commander stepped forward to answer. Tonn drew a circle in the sand. While he concentrated, tongue hanging out, trying to remember what shape a circle was, Tarondor tapped him on the head with his warhammer. Onlookers judged the odds to be roughly even since they were now the same height (give or take a head). That was until Tonn blinked his eyes once (being the only part of him that now appeared above his spikey collar) and toppled to the ground. Tarondor was declared victor by default and had Tonn turned into a lovely dash mat and matching fluffy dice set.

Fantastic! By the way, small question - What are you going to do it with? Seems to me that we've squished just about everything with eyes in Mordor (reason why I mention eyes is that we slaughtered a few potatoes as well. Someone pointed out that they look like Nazgul. At last count we'd killed 4237.4 Nazgul before we figured it out (the .4 was a definite Nazgul). If there are any real potatoes in that number can you please let us know...... potatoes are useful :-)

I thought christmas had come early. Tonn Varthkur was certainly bitten by the spirit of giving to the freep. Must have nearly cleaned the Dog's nation out of toys (he'll have to hang a steak around his neck so the other kids will play with him now). Not that we needed them, but it is the spirit of giving that's all important afterall :-)

Could say something to this but I'll stop myself doing it.---

Yeah, rats are more intelligent than worms or coconuts and Gondorians.
You forgot the Gondorians in your enumeration !

Oh, you constructed a chariot out of Tonn's head !?

So Tarondor must be a really small guy.
Looks like Tonn stumbled over him and fell down, mortaly wounded by this accident !

Hey I was looking back through past posts and couldn't help but be impressed at this gem of a prediction. Good call. I've told you before that it isn't so much that the FP have impressed me, but the fact that the WK strikes me as being a far for competent potential ally. His tactics up north have left a lot to be desired, and this turns map hasn't done anything to prove otherwise yet!

Some quick notes - Tarondor is dead yes. Celdrahil is captured yes. And the point is? The battle at Barad Ungol carried by the DS but at great cost. But maybe the point wasn't what you thought :-) There's more to winning the game than carrying a skirmish.

We haven't even reached the point where freep strategies need to change due to changing game conditions.

Oh Winni,
your king died one turn earlier than mine, so what do you need to tell me ?

I should make a handbag out of Tharondor's head ?

The joke with the handbag, we had it already last game, that's old stuff !

Hey guy, create some new stuff !

I know that's impossible for you, your slow and Free-people.

Combined unbeatable !!!

Like your armies !!!

Ha, ha, ha !!

I guess, we will see Middle Earth without Gondorians much earlier than the things you promised !

Not when you strike from the shadows old bean, you don't get to claim the field. The DS are getting whacked in hand to hand or military combat, the freep by curse and assassin :-)

I don't blame you for saying the things you do Gixxxer, but do you have to wear the clown pants as well? It's just so much overkill. Nastiness is so close around you now that you should be able to hear it coming (at least if those abominable lugs attached to the side of your equally abominable Nazgul heads were actually connected:-). When was the last time you took a look outside of Mordor? Not for a while was it :-)

Sheesh, blatant two fisted brutality seems to be a bit overly subtle for you orcs. Maybe a few less turn reports would help un-confuse you :-)

G'day Gixxer,

Give Taronder a good kick for me too, he was an annoying pratt! And I won't comment about the handbags, we've always been a little suspicious about the dunedain of the south!

btw I hope Ashdurbuk Zalg knows where he's going down south, he has done a recon hasn't he? I'm reminded of that scene in the first movie with all the nazgul, of course they did change the characters involved, oh well they paid good money to Liv Tyler, it makes sense to use her as much as possible. Anyway, I shouldn't be helping witchy poo but I figure he needs all the help he can get!

oh well, back to burning Angmar, I might try and get a CL scalp or 2 this turn too, hello G & E......

hmmmm no? I'll take quality any day, but I'll leave quantity to the DS on this one. My point is to point out to the neutrals the freep position. And with that, I'm going to let the next few turn results tell their tale.

Winston,

Let the next few turns speak for themselves, huh? The Gondors are getting their buttocks handed to themselves on a platter. How many armies have you lost now? How many commanders? Have you even made any progress from Osgiliath? I think not!!!! Lord Argirion is the latest Gondor commander to get his arse kicked and be captured by the unbeatable Fire King!!!!!!!!!!:D

Give it up, play the retreat to the Grey Havens strategy that your good at.

Hi Winni,
you're speaking about quality and quantity, nice words.

Now you know that you've lost your armies.

They've had higher quality and much more quantity from the start on.

What you've done with them ?

Not much, some pressure the first turns.

Now your gun-powder is shot.

We will see what will happen the next turns.

A stray beam of moonlight fell through the sink hole in the cavern roof, it's blue gossamer glow glittered upon the gemmed band of the Ring of Curufin. Shadows moved just beyond the circle of light.... Free People and Dark Servants circling, waiting for the chance to snatch the prize.

Of a sudden the light went out plunging the cavern into darkness. Ren struck fast, his finger entering the ring, it's crusty band encircling his finger. It wasn't until he fled into the moonlight that he realised that the crusty band was in fact Adunnyphul's cauliflower ear. Yes, it's been a slow game and it's hard to get excited about the game when not much is happening. Personally, it's been a little boring up north, what with both Murazor and Jill Indur ignoring me but maybe this turn will be a little different and your team might actually try and do something in the north for a change instead of rolling over and dying ;)

Actually, there doesn't seem to be a lot going on in the game this turn, pretty sad when the highlight this turn could be to see what Gargal does to keep his ugly head?? Last turn was much more interesting, at least you invaded the Harad!!! Now you have run away and attacked SG instead, strange very strange.....

Ps. Gixxer, I did work out some quick numbers for angmar troop losses. It's pretty sad though what with the WK trying out that new strategy of not recruiting. All told, only about 13k gone in arth/cardy/wk battles. I didn't count 2004 so I guess the WK did lose a few there. Not have I counted Gundy but who cares, I don't have the time to do the others. Maybe one day the software will be able to count this for us, I for one would find it very interesting!

Gixxxer,

Fair enough but I have played them before.

Now, I'm not even trying to claim what we did in this game was brilliant. It was actually pretty simple and it really shouldn't have worked. Cardy went for his villages, I just sent everything against his capital city. The dwarves did the usual 2004 hire but nothing else. We were very surprised when the WK decided to capture not threat 2004, that cost big time as he did not send out anything to screen the incoming freep. We were impressed when the 3 cities went up but it does costs money, almost happy to see it happen. Even happier when the WK doesn't recruit from them. The WK blocked me once on the way in to 1804 and that was it. He even had an opportunity to send his reserves home to help but didn't. It looked bad, its turned out worse, one can't blame Rhu for not wanting to join a sinking ship especially when well over 10k of freep troops get to run around unmolested in Angmar? This is a grudge game afterall.

Anyway, let's see what happens this turn. I don't doubt you guys can still pull a few surprises up north yet.....

Or are the Freps surprised that we're able to fight out of Mordor ?

Great work Freps, you we're able to disparage our game-play.

Looks like the Neutrals are believing the lies you're telling !

This is one way to win the game.

Not the way I would use !

I've heard some stories and received a mail from your SG-player, proving this.

Looks like this is the only way you're able to win !

We should try this again, without Neutrals !

No Gixxxer, I have no wish to either play with or against your team. You blame the neutrals, but your problems lead back to two critical game errors in the first couple of turns, that were picked up by our players and at least one of the neutrals. Those problems have been exploited to the end where both your WK and your Drag have effectively been kicked out of position, and all the freep are ready to take you on at home. You have not used your time so well, getting embroiled in a bloodless tiff with the two Gondors. Too many assets, too slow.

For the record, to date the neutrals have affected our game far more than yours, in fact we have had to remove 3 nations from the attack because of this. Why do you think it has been so easy around Mordor?

I'll leave the ending of this game to you and yours. I'll leave you think about this though, the very factors of our play that you have slung the most rubbish at - were in fact our most important strategies, and caused you your position. A game without neutrals? You have already lost it.

But don't take my word for it, Brian Hansen the Harad player leads a very effective team of US players who will go hard on your team, John Staggoll leads a similar and slightly more effective Aus team? I suspect Jonathon Shushan might as well? Play any and all of them and find out.

You've made any freep victory ashes, I don't want to come back here and repeat the effort.

Thanks for the game anyway

Heya folks -

Remember that this is a game - try not to beat each other up verbally too much. When "liar" comments get made in public forums, people take offense unless those comments were made in jest (in which case more effort might need to be made to assure the recipient of such talk that it IS in jest). Noone plays the game to be called a liar - remember that the comments made in these forums are public - and the names of those individuals can be tainted for other and future games - so they might take that personally.

If the comments ARE intended to be personal, then be sure to back them up. That liar may BE a liar and that knowledge would be a good thing to share with others before they are duped in some future game with this person. But in the case of SG, I don't believe this to be so.

It's easy and fun to trash-talk Camlin, Elrond, or Hoarmurath - but don't beat up the players themselves. We're all here for the same reason - to play a game.

I would have been more verbal earlier on this forum, but I made a promise to myself to pay more attention to my turns and less attention to trash-talking on the forums. So please forgive the "Silence of the Freep" in this case - I assure you my nations actions will speak loudly enough for themselves.

Ren the Magnificent, Unbeatable, Totally Unstoppable Nazgul whips up on another NG army. Wasn't even close. Come on freeps, where's your might? Running for the Grey Havens, that's where!!!!

On a sad note, we would like to say goodbye, for now, to the valiant sailors in Her Majesty Adunaphel's Royal Yacht club. The poor 100 sailors met their deaths at the hands of of the over aggressive SG and NG fleets while on a peaceful mission to survey the bottom land near the mouth of the river. They were surveying to map out the bottom for the planned Royal Adunaphel submarine force being planned right now. They will be missed and avenged. This submarine fleet will carry the latest OTM's (Oliphant Turd Missiles) that will totally destroy a large army or a small city (have you ever smelled Oliphant turds? Gastly, I say!!)

Histories of Middle Earth Book XCIV Vol III

Maximillian junior waved excitedly at the flotsam from the naval engagement with Gargal’s fleet. A hairy looking sphere the size of a melon nudged against his father’s flagship – the “Admiral Windbag”. Hopping excitedly from foot to foot he cried “What’s that father?”

Maximillian threw his son a banana eyeing him suspiciously. Not for the first time considering his son’s Mordorian mother, and what relevance this had to her offspring who could eat with his toes.

That is a coconut son. It’s a harmless fruit. Shortly thereafter Maximillian heard a choking sound from junior. The lads eyes were bugging from his furry little face. Maximillian slapped him soundly on the back and with a great gag, Maximillian jnr spat the coconut onto the foredeck where it bounced and rolled for some moments. Jnr sulked back over to the rail.

A short time later he was again waving excitedly at a hairy looking sphere, but this one was the size of a chariot. “What is it father?”

Maximillian rolled his eyes “It’s a coconut son”

“But it’s got ears!”

And so Admiral Gargal’s passing was mistaken for that of a strange fruit from a far off land. Oddly enough this had by no means been the first time he had been so described.
