Well not all the turns are in yet but so far it looks good for all the DS save me. Oh well, I will just have to overcome poor luck with superior talent. :)

Uvatha,
I didn't think you were able to devise some kind of a plan to conquer anything you caught me by surprise I am sure Urzi with his superior talent has something to do with it.;)
Ok enjoy while you can:mad:

Thelor--

I do not share my superior talent with Uvatha lest he use it against me. I have to hold some cards in reserve for the true battle that begins after the pesky FP are subjugated.

Okay guys, I've just read the Blind Sorceror pdf. Been so long due to "technical difficulties" along the lines of a dog, a load of laundry, and something to do with losing a big commission resulting in the laptop taking an unscheduled swim break.

Anyway,

Open Message to the Free Peoples:

Honour can be yours - save us all some money. This is going to quickly turn into a farce.

Regards,

It's already a farce,
Really, please have the decency to call it a game. No one will make fun of you for ending it. Take a step back and look at what's going on. Your much anticipated assault is being chewed up with no gains made. Are you going to make us wait another 10 turns so you can try again? Meanwhile your characters are being slaughtered wholesale and we grow stronger every turn.
Brad is right, there is honour in bowing out gracefully. Please recognize that it's time so we can all get other games going.

Uvatha

PS: Jaques, we don't need to hear your crazy rambling about us quitting, let's be real.

You have got to be kidding! You guys are one nation down and have yet to see any "major" assault on Mordor. As yet our Agent nations have not entered the fray.
If you guys want to walk away from this one now, go ahead but the rest of us Free think we are still going to win this. Not one of us has even thought about tossing it in.
So if you want to save money you’re welcome to drop the game, but don’t come begging us to. The rest of us will fight it out.

Regards (Stubbornly Stoopid) Hallas

Good please DON'T drop. I am tired of games where one team drops at the first sign of things not going their way. If that happened in Tolkein they never would have gone past the Hobbit. Some people say a win is a win, but personally I want to EARN mine.

Mike Carr

We may never see that assault if you keep wandering in circles. Also, think about what you just said." Our agent nations have not entered the fray". Uh, it's turn 17. S#@t or get off the pot.:D

Don't worry we won't drop

My dwarves have finaly found Mordor after running around on our short legs for 17 turns we are not about to drop:confused:

Drop , drop what? we are not going top drop our weapons so close to Mordor.

Well if the dwarves refuse to drop their weapons we will just have to steal them. Brad I want you-- Wait a minute your not the Ice King Anymore.

p.s. Are the dwarves really in Mordor? Why wasn't I told? :(

Hi DS and Fellow Freeps,

Ive been off this site for sometime and now I find that the DS (who are really about the only ones posting here) are saying we should quit.

Let me ask you all something - what planet are you on!

Lets look at the facts

We have absolutley killed you in the camp war. We have totally controlled the market, from almost day one. You seem to forget that the DS start with major characters at the start of the game but its about now that the Freep Characters are getting strong enough to go head to head with you. By the way for all your talk how's Tormog? A bit sick I hear, in fact he's dead isnt he, now I wonder who could be next. Yes yes the DS really have us all shaking in our boots...

Im really surprised if you are genuine about us dropping. You guys wont survive the winter. Before winter comes you will have knock BOTH gondors from the game... it just isnt going to happen. I fully understand you all wanting to save money, its you'll who need to save it - Urzahil, what the hell are you crapping on about about things not going our way, wake up to yourself man.

Look if you guys want to drop, you drop. Lets look at your position, how many of your nations are down? What the hell are is your "ally" the Cors doing? Your only economic base is mordor. you have nothing in the Misty Moountains, you are far from privvy to what we are doing, hell we dont even have to win right now, just hold on to winter.

I think all this talk on the website is a beat up, trying to bate us into submission, you guys are getting desperate. If you want to talk about who is winning and who isnt lets chat after winter. Enjoy your respite now - the DS always get a respite in summer, but I think youll find by turn 25 you'll be singing another tune.

Lay off the website and prove yourself in the game. You need to leave boasting rights until the end of the game, right now, at best, its even. If its even then the Ds are behind the 8 ball, in summer you need to be blitzing us, I just dont see it at the moment. Should you win, great, but I can tell you there is absolutely no talk among us about dropping, to think otherwise is fantasy land. maybe your all just sizing us up to see if you guys will bother continuing. Contact my other team members through back-channells or Harly if you want. Our morale is fine.

Good Gaming and may the best team win...

You are waiting for winter?

You don't even know how many DS there are?

It took an enemy using the message board private message function to give advice to one of your nations regarding character naming/training/usage? Should we review their orders also for the rest of your "team"...?

Has anyone been in touch with Harad over there?

Tormog? You effect a single character and you take the liberty to mention it in public? Have you SEEN the NG pdf...? or is that what you meant by "BOTH Gondors:...? ;)

Camp war and market? We STARTED in winter...meanwhile -> YOU controlled the market and YOU won the "camp war"...? Bully for you...catching on yet...?

We simply wanted to save you some embarassment.

Wow, I knew Elves were a little "off" but damn,
Obviously you can't take a little ribbing. You also have no conception of reality. I guess you will just have to learn the hard way...

Unlike Orcs who are always "Off".

Wow what rock did the Elves crawl out from under?

<What planet am I on>

Mordor I think, its 110 degrees F here, 120 in my car. <g>

<How about Tormog>

Hmmm you did not read the board I guess. I posted my ill luck with the challenge of Argeleb II at the begining of the thread. He died in an even challenge. Too bad, but I will take even odds at trading Tormog for Argeleb ANY DAY.

<what do ya mean things not going our way wake up>

We seem to have very different perspectives on this, I am not going to even attempt to change your mind. :)

<We are attempting to bait your team into dropping because we are desperate>

Uhhh no. As I stated recently I DO NOT want you to drop. Please don't, you will get the same courtesy from me in return.

<Stop posting on this board and prove yourselves in game>

Sorry but posting on the board is part of the entertainment value for myslef and other members of my team. We are not going to stop enjoying ourselves because you see it differently. :p We do plan on proving it in game however, dont worry.

Now if I can make one small request-- would it be possible for you to post a short note here once every, say 3 turns, instead of a ranting essay once every ten? We miss talking to you.

Hey I didn't know the DS could read? I thought that's why they put the little icons on the messages so the DS would have something to look at!

We sure can read,we didn't think you guys could write. We need the little icons to entertain ourselves, I guess we were sick of talking to the silly little guy. If only one or two more people on your team knew how to spell maybe we could have actual discussions. Until then though :p

The Elf spelled better than the Dwarf, but his whole "Stop all this talking! Stop it! STOP ITTTTTT!" makes one wonder what's spinning the wheel between those pointy ears. I guess we're stuck with the Stumped and the Stunned... ;)

Now now, we all know that cuneiform was developed by the Phonecians in the bronzish age as a prelude to AccPac and is more along the lines of slashes and dots...you have too many curly curves in your feeble attempt at humour. Historical accuracy please, or Sinda might get upset...or was that the Thracians...? Were there Thracians? Ah hell...

Wow, you guys are really edumacated for a bunch of Orc whippers, and wrong which isn't surprising.

Phonecians developed the precursor to the alphabet,
Sumerians developed Cuneiform (The guys in Mesopotamia about 300BC).

Hey, Thanks Hallas!

But the pressing question: was cuneiform straight and angular, or more curvey..?

Thanks,

OK Listen up:

Hallas is correct that cuneiform was created by the Sumerians. Brad is correct that the style of writing was sharp and angular "as if made by a wedge-like object". One of the things that I love about middle earth is that it is played by so many people out of the U.S. who actually have a clue about such things... Refreshing...

Did the dwarves say something?

Um, Mr Urzahil,

The Rest of the World outside the US is the REAL surprised one, to even find a single Literate American, talk about an Edoocated one...please...

;)

herman
2nd July 2003, 06:42 PM
The literate American doesn't surprise me, it's the ones that actually realise that there is "the rest of the world" out there and knows a bit about it thats surprising!! ;)

And yes the style was angular wedge shaped lines and dots.
(Think heavy handed Elvish)
