I thought I had a strong claim for funniest order error entry when my Dendra
Dwar challenged & killed Duran (I was supposed to go for a Woodman
character - must have been drunk when doing orders). However, I recently
came across a neutral who honourably told the DS he was going free, marched
his armies inside Mordor, then mistakenly changed alliegance to Dark rather
than FP.

Any other entries?

Mike

RD: Can't compete with those; but I thought it was pretty funny when the DS shipped a few thousand steel to the FP due to a typo!

Richard.

In one game I was lucky enough to be the first character to the hex
with the Ring of Wind, I got the riddle, knew the answer, and when I
got my turn back I was shocked to find out I had answered "Nemya"
instead of "Nenya". Alas some foul smelling DS got the ring the next
turn and I went home crying.

I once tried to send twenty thousand gold to Dunland at 1922, only for
those nice chaps at GAD to mistype the order as going to 3922, a Dragon
Lord camp. Would GAD correct this? What do you think ... As it turned
out this saved the Dragon Lord from bankruptcy and he went on to plague
us for many turns thereafter.

Then there was my South Gondor position. I was trying to run a zero
economy, so bought timber with my remaining gold. Trouble was I went a
bit cross-eyed and also issued the same buy order with another
character. Result? 99% taxation ... A close shave to say the least!

There are probably more embarassing ones, but I think I'll draw a veil
over those ...

I'm not claiming credit for this one but I have a friend who was playing two nations. Unfortunately, he decided to guard one camp at the same time he tried to steal off it. Fortunately the stealing agent was only kidnapped.

My greatest claim to fame is mixing up directions - easy you say, everyone mixes up E & W at some point. I went one better & mixed up N & S (well - it was late). Not only that, but I did it with a cavalry army which had enough food for one turn. It took me three more turns to get to where I had meant to go. It would have taken longer but I hit the edge of the map.

That happened to me once. I was guarding one of my camps that I had
allowed friendly stealing from. Managed to capture three friendly agents
in the process. Fortunately, no deaths!
