Hey there,
This is to those lucky few who were able to attend the FtF event this
last weekend... (attempting to live vicariously through your
attendance)
How did the event go?
Any interesting stories?
Envious in MN, USA.

Middle Earth PBM Games

*** Yeh I'll write something but if a player can do so that's fine as well.
Sleep was good to have afterwards though... :-)
>2 games were played and great fun was had, though I never want to see

*** Yeh cough. What everyone should know and this is very embarrassing to
please don't tell anyone (well go on then). is that I managed to blow up
the Rhudaur (as DS) very early in the game. Lucky enough Stu was kind
enough to say "heh Clint you've blown up your nation" just as I was about
to go to bed - so not much sleep was had by me... :-) Luckily enough
someone came up with a good idea for dealing with this. (I had considered
it as a GM before had but it's only the 2nd time it's happened.) I would
count myself as a quite experienced player and reasonably good at games, so
it's just mortifying from my perspective and I was much the figure of fun
(and rightly so!!)
>I would certainly play F2F again - it's somehow more personal, knowing that
>the opposition is in the other room, rather than on the other end of a
>computer.
*** Yeh great fun for that - lots of taunting. In the 2nd game (the DS
resigned after a while as there were 2 more nations bankrupt for many
reasons that would take decades to discuss and go into the nitty gritty of)
playing the QA (I swopped teams to make up some numbers) I lost Adunaphael
to a Corsair character in a challenge and an army with it and it's great
fun to see the face and hear the whoops of delight from the opposition in
such circumstances. (Most players congregate outside - it was boiling hot
- to have a drink and a chat inbetween turns and to taunt the opposition).
