That they can mean different things coming from different people I do not
doubt. But ultimately, and more importantly than who says it, is who reads
it. You read the meanings you want into them, whether they be good, or bad.
And for you and yours, how you interpret them is far mor important, than
what a person meant when it was said.

I think it helps put things into perspective. How you say things, what
context they are in, who said it and the intonation and ulterior motives
are all important considerations when listening to messages.
