Noble WK: The 'final' offensive has begun. Better send an emissary on that long trek to Umbar. Don't delay. I have admired your use of interior lines and wouldn't want you out of the game to early.

Sam Q
20th August 2003, 12:24 PM
I'm glad the free offensive has begun. Now I finally have an acceptable excuse to leave Angmar. It's far too cold up here. Besides, with all these damn stumpies always running underfoot how are you supposed to accomplish anything?

Sam Q
20th August 2003, 02:24 PM
I'm not going anywhere! Bring it on, freep I assure you that you've got an uphill battle ahead, no matter how many nations are sending armies in (i've got more than enough little surprises for you).

Wow, who'd have thought. Turn 19 and still alone in Angmar...

Arthedain73
20th August 2003, 02:49 PM
Wow, two cups of coffe between postings can make a difference.

Sam Q
20th August 2003, 03:00 PM
Coffee always perks me up. Kind of an addiction, really, but it could be worse, I suppose.

So, I take it you've finished "building up?"

Arthedain73
20th August 2003, 04:34 PM
Right. Have to do something with you so that SG can get rescued.

Sam Q
21st August 2003, 03:37 PM
I applaud your efforts, Arthedain, but perhaps you should just build a nice memorial in the memory of South Gondor. Perhaps a shrine depicting a lot of birds -- many of SG's last heroes and commanders were fools like Duck, Mallard, Goose ... peoples like this are not worth saving.

Besides, I fear that they cannot be saved. But don't worry, I'll make good use of my newly gained territories. Heck, I'll use them to finance and support my aggression against you. Everyone wins!

Hiya Sam, couldn't let you gloat alone. Greetings Arthedain, how do the free like our prescence in South Gondor?:D
Nice to see the Noldo navy re-appear after stocking up with supplies, and also to see the Noldo assisting South Gondor...may be a little late. Anyway, Ji and group have finished in Mordor, and would like an invite to the party in Angmar. The Northwest of Mordor can be held with what we have there, so I have time to lop a few stumpie heads and to entertain your commanders for a while. Never know, even Gildor may drop in for tea and a chat.:p :p :p
I expect the free to bale SG out with gold and supplies, so good to see you drain your economies to assist the incompetent!
Now where do we go next?;) ;) ;)

Arthedain73
23rd August 2003, 09:10 PM
Now, now, Cloudy. I know both of your secrets. But don't worry, I have not told anyone else.

Masher
24th August 2003, 06:17 AM
Is that the one about me with the cocktail waitress and a french loaf?:D :D
Or are you fishing for confirmation of who is playing which nations?:p
How are the free players viewing the incompetent Gondor player? You surely won't let him go out!

Ed,

Wow, your buddies really want the old Blackgate ! I see Woodmen, Sinda, Northmen and Eothraim from my precarious perch. I'll just have to take them down a few notches so that this is all they get. Meanwhile, SG and others will take it on the chin as well as me.

Don , the Dog

Arthedain73
3rd September 2003, 11:30 AM
Don, my anciet enemy, I will repeat my advice to the noble WK. Send an emissary to Umbar. Don't delay.

Sam Q
3rd September 2003, 11:41 AM
Apparently, I've only been cowering in fear. Hehehe

Well, Arthedain, I see you're up to your old tricks. The swarm of free armies is nice. Plenty of carrion for my beasts to feed on shortly. The bodies of the 4000 dead dwarves is merely a mouthfull, and I've got so many dragons.

Do you honestly believe I'd only have trolls defending my capital? Worry not, Arthedain, you are still nowhere near taking Angmar from me! You have the numbers, i'll give you that. But there are ways I can level the field...

Arthedain73
3rd September 2003, 09:27 PM
Somebody this happy must have recruited a dragon last turn.

Sam Q
5th September 2003, 09:25 AM
Just trying to keep things interesting.

Sooner or later I'll actually launch my own offensive.

Sam Q
17th September 2003, 10:09 AM
Howdy Arthedain! Your alliance in the north doesn't seem as strong as it did a fortnight ago.

Kudos to the dwarves for taking Morkai. I'm sure it'll be a short term arrangement, though. Rogrog isn't too kind to stumpies.

I'm glad they felt fit to give 2004 to me as well. Seems they are finally seeing the writing on the wall in the north.

Wonder where the Noldo army went? Hmmm. Doesn't look too good for ol' ealdo...

The Franklin? Do you mean Ben? He was cool, capable and long lived. I guarentee that your The Franklin will not be so fortunate.

Love them dragons!!!

Arthedain73
17th September 2003, 10:44 AM
Well done, noble and formidable WK. If the blocking force had reached hex 1906 I think you would be singing a different song. For want of a nail----

Sam Q
17th September 2003, 10:48 AM
Agreed! Chance has shone favorably upon me this past fortnight. You certainly don't make it easy for me...

Oh the Grand Dark Lieutenants
They had some killer men
They marched them off to Dol Amroth
They were never seen again

'Cos when the assassins had struck
Old Urzy was wearing a frown
Twas his own agents had come unstuck
and whose bodies all fell down

Ouch!
That was a bit nasty - three in one go and losing the Voice

Revenge will be mine

I suspect the Dog Lord is now feeling Rough after being visited by the National Elf Service.

Don Palmer
18th September 2003, 09:52 AM
No, Doggie was put thru the blender and pureed by the Free
Secret War Machine Society ! (AKA FSWMS, for those of you who like that sort of thing).

Our dobber was down, methinks we Dark were too happy to try and stomp on SG and let our guard down elsewhere. As out top hatted Dark Lieu and next governor of California have said :

"We'll be back !"

Doggie Don

Sam Q
30th September 2003, 12:21 PM
So Arthedain, what do you think will happen this turn?

Arthedain73
30th September 2003, 01:05 PM
Having consulted with the Oracle of Delphi, the Seer states:

"Arthedain Folk with icewater eyes,
Beware treason and avoid suprise.
Against the foe in solid array
Advance bravely into the fray.
The enemy recoils from the fight,
Your sword points in fury bite!"

Arthedain73
1st October 2003, 09:10 AM
As usual, the Oracle was correct but did not tell the whole story.

Sam Q
1st October 2003, 09:50 AM
Yes, the oracle has a gift with only telling you what you want to hear (she's the one that said I'd lead an offensive against the Arthedain... didn't tell me I'd be doing it in order to defend my own realm!!!).

Anyhoo, I'd like to offer the Dark Lord's sincerest sympathy for the untimely deaths' of your valiant army commanders, and of course the 2400 heavy cavalry Regent The Franklin led. A more doomed expedition we have yet to see. How many warmachines went up that time?

Ribbing asside, you are indeed making this a very tough fight! Wish you didn't find my village. I'll have to return the favor sometime.

1st October 2003, 03:52 PM
Now 2 DS capitals in 2 turns for the National Elf Service.

Who will be next I wonder. Thanks also to the late Ice King for all those nice mage artefacts. Will come in very handy for the second curse squad.

Sam Q
2nd October 2003, 02:46 PM
Come now, pointy ears, didn't you and your kind realize yet that this world is not for you? Perhaps you need to be reminded of your weakness.

... wait for it...

Sam Q
15th October 2003, 11:50 AM
Well now, that wasn't very sporting. I invited that character to take in the sites and she travelled all the way from Mordor just to have you stick her like a pig. You'll pay for that.

You'll also pay for destroying my village. That was a brewery and resort.

But at least I can be comfortable knowing that many of your characters and armies are no longer with us. Speaking of which, I don't suppose you would choose to withdraw your army from 1704. Just go home. Too much blood has been spilt here already (still remembering 6000 dead dwarves).

Arthedain73
15th October 2003, 01:34 PM
Esteemed WL: I'm sorry but Bartacus kept making lewd advances to my army commander. He has sworn an oath of chastity until Mt. Gram is destroyed. He will make up for lost time during the sack.

Well, if you don't attack me at 1704 I won't attack you. How does that mini-truce sound? Remember, the rules specifically allow enemies to reach agreements with each other.

Sam Q
15th October 2003, 01:43 PM
Noble Arthedain... you know if it was up to me I'd let you go, but the lads have a temper, and they've been drinking all day.

One heck of a war up here so far. Almost a year of fighting and here we still sit.

mikesankey
23rd October 2003, 11:46 AM
What no comments from the Dark Sevants this turn?

Have we killed all your witty characters?

Surely at least the Witch King has some banter left.

Sam Q
23rd October 2003, 12:08 PM
Come now, meager elf, you are more than welcome to try Elrohir's company's luck up in Angmar. I doubt that it would find the reception as fitting as the one it receives now in Mordor. No matter. The dark nations remain strong, and the offing of a few characters here or there will do nothing to stop Sauron's darkness from spreading over your fare lands.

Arthedain knows well my prowess. Soon you both shall learn to fear me anew...

23rd October 2003, 12:18 PM
Although Canute like we are sitting
as the tide of freep armies keep hitting
This brief moment of silence
precedes acts of violence
That show we've not thought of submitting

Ta Da!

mikesankey
23rd October 2003, 02:28 PM
What a relief you are still there - so the fun continues!

And finally I would like to apologise to the DS in advance for all their characters and armies we will kill this turn:D

Arthedain73
23rd October 2003, 02:39 PM
JD: Put on your creative cap. I wish to commission a Hosanna of Triumph, when Mt. Gram falls. Make it good and I will send gold to your capital. Of course, you will have to tell me where your capital is. A minor detail that won't stand in the way of your poetic art.

Sam Q
24th October 2003, 11:55 AM
uh, Arthedain, hate to be a downer, but your "final offensive" has pretty much netted you with over ten thousand dead freeps, a few dead commanders, and 2 WK villages and a camp. Well done.

At this rate, i don't think Gram will fall anytime soon...

How about we write a funeral dirge for the free?

Arthedain73
29th October 2003, 09:59 AM
Noble WK: You are really starting to frustrate me. Although, I guess, it could be considered a sign of progress that you are now forced to recruit naked MAA.

Sam Q
29th October 2003, 10:21 AM
We felt that naked manish slave look was what we wanted to go for this season. Besides, your troops must be tired of fighting all these trolls.

You've played a hell of a game, Arthedain. Perhaps its time for you to be on the defensive for a while...

Do the free peoples wish to surrender yet?

Arthedain73
29th October 2003, 11:32 AM
OK, I will make you a deal. If you fend off the next wave I will go on the defensive and let you pitch awhile.

mikesankey
29th October 2003, 02:31 PM
One more DS capital gone this turn and 3 more will go in the coming turn. How long can the Mordor Dark Servants hold out?

Please ask the Dark Lord to switch off the lights at barad Dur as he leaves.

The National Elf service.

Sam Q
29th October 2003, 03:59 PM
Hello elf lacky, still waiting for you to join me in the north. I wanted to let you know, though, that Elrohir and friends at 3929 may be in for a little surprise. Certainly nothing you can do about a curse team...

mikesankey
29th October 2003, 04:25 PM
No thanks noble WiK. Due to the good fight you have put up in the north - the best of all the DSs I will stick to the easier pickings in the south.

You have earned the honour to be left till last - and that is not too far away.

The National Elf Service.

Sam Q
30th October 2003, 08:24 AM
Thank you for the high praise, but as my fellows have supported me, I shall do my best to prevent you from accomplishing your plan. We're just getting warmed up...

Don Palmer
30th October 2003, 12:53 PM
I seem to have misplaced my capitol. It was just here a second ago ...

Don, Dog

mikesankey
31st October 2003, 01:06 PM
Oh dear. You should have let me know. I have dozens of Major Towns and Cities to spare.

Oh by the way the curse kill on your army commander that let our emissaries work their magic on your capital was well boosted by the mage artefacts I took from you at your last capital. Thanks.

The National Elf Service.

Sam Q
31st October 2003, 03:32 PM
Which artifacts, exactly, are with your curse team? If your interested in telling us, that is...

mikesankey
31st October 2003, 03:45 PM
Depends which curse team you want info on.

Sam Q
5th November 2003, 08:31 AM
Just a heads up for you Free that havn't seen the other thread... The DS have surrendered. You agent superiority has reduced Mordor to the point of no return. Well done and well played.

Sam, WK and BS
