It would seem to me, realistically, that it wouldnt take all that much time.
I mean, assuming the xmls are kept, kept in organized folders. It should
take perhaps 2 minutes to generate the files necessary, but the question is,
do you just do the last turn? the entire game? and how do you send it? I
see the "OK I got the file, now what..." being the big one...that could be a
pretty big email, and may actually exceed attachment restrictions on some
email servers...

Yeah, that was going to be my comment. With
permission from the players in the game, yes I would
be interested in seeing the map

Do you share your pdf's and xml's with your team
mates? If yes, what difference does sharing the final
maps with the whole board and, or opposing team?

We "choose" to share .pdf's with teamates. How can you not see the difference? I don't pay $7.60 US to instruct someone else... though I do pay it to school them :P

If you want to build a comprehensive map, ask each nation for a copy of their .xml and, if they give it, build the map. It is that simple.

Yes, I almost always share my files with team mates. The difference is that I share my information with whom I choose. An argument could be made that all the info really belongs to ME Games, but my feeling is that I bought and paid for it myslef. However, after Clint's first post, he later said he would need the players' permission to create and distribute the maps. I can live with that, knowing I had a potential veto, as I think most players could.

It's not that I don't see the difference, between
choice etc...., I just don't see why it's such a big
deal to share the info after a game is over.

Anyway, people would probably find out their really
not as original in their playing a nation as they
would like to think they are! ;-)

Since you're not giving out any player details, why would you be asking them
for permission? Giving out the end map would be like given out a game report
or Rumours from the Front in Flagship, no?
