Your agent would gain 1-5 points of agent rank from doing the guarding.
Sauron is only an army encounter and only affects the characters that
have joined the army no matter what their skills are.

yes, dragons can be assassinated, but it is very very etc difficult. Probably just as difficult as bolting artiis to a mage, and going on a named dragon PCing spree. Can be done, is fun, but ya gotta get as much help as u can.
I wish i could see the sauron duel picture :)

I´ve dueled Sauron, nice image on the PDF...
And I´ve stollen and Killed Gandalf and Galladriel a couple of times, never
tried to guard any of them.
I´ve tried to guard the eagles once, and the order failed.
But, I believe that guarding Sauron would not trigger an encounter because
he is an army encounter.
BTW, another doubt, if I try to assassinate Sauron, it´s an automatic
failure? How about dragons?

Here is the duel picture...
Translating the text to english (loosely):
In 2019 (Mountains) a ritual duel began. A great circle was drawn in front
of the the camps main tent. As the residents of Pilindi approached,
Uirdiks, a healthy sorcerer, moved forward and challenged. In response,
Sauron, a dark Maiar Spirit appearead, looking healthy. The people could not
imagine the outcome of the combar. The fight did not last long. Sauron
overcame Uirdiks by dropping his mistical defenses, killing him instantly
and suffering only minor scratches.
