I signed up for my first 2950 game and look forward to it, but I am wondering if it is going to feel very slow at first. I think it would be nice if the first 10-12 turns were run once per week and then it shifted to every two weeks.

It'll likely feel very slow in the 6+ months that it takes to fill... ;) Good luck with the time, but if you want to go 1 week, why would you shift to 2 after a certain point..?

Actually I would be fine with it as a 1 week game all the way through, but some people like to have more time to figure out their orders as their position grows. If the 2950 really takes that long to fill I'll probably get involved in too many other games before it starts.

I'll disagree with your point #1 re: Time. It seems to take 95% of the players less than 10 minutes to do their orders, 30 if they scan through the hundreds of "team" emails beforehand. It's the human affliction of procrastination that's the problem. A 1 week game due on Tuesday will have some desperate mail on the weekend and a flurry on the Monday. A 2 week game due on a Tuesday will have no mail for 10 days then every second weekend, a couple desperate mails and then a flurry on the Monday. Actually, I've almost always found the level of communication and coordination drastically lower in the 2 week game - some players are still in the postal mindset and others end up falling asleep...the game play suffers... ;)

I'll also add to your point #2 - sign up, presuming your other games are 1650, the Neutrals will "destroy" them such that whenever this 2950 actually get's around to filling, there's a good chance you'll have a slot open anyway.. :D

LOL, well I will be a neutral in one of the new 1650 games so at least I'll get to be the bastard this time.

Hi there Banal,
I've waited more than a half year for game 22!

Less than ten minutes for entering orders?

Can't be a nation with many chars, nor watching the whole game!

You know darn well that if you get 3 out of 10 looking at the whole map, you're likely a hell of a lot better off than your opposition. Even on grudge teams, most look at their pdf's only. You and I are the minority in that, not the norm...

So you think Welsch will be allowed to sign up for the new 2950..? :D

Why not?

Blue Night is a tough player!

I'm not so happy with his "departures" of some games, but signoras are ruling the cheque-book (sometimes)!

Have Fun!

Players don't like my comments after looking at thier pdfs.. I began to swear it off.. I just focus on my nation now.. besides a couple of times blowing myself up fixed that problem.. I also seem to get along alot better with my teamates now! ;)

Yeah, you should also look on other players PDFs, wouldn't be a mistake.

Looking on the new team, you're some fresh-blood, boiling blood.
That's good!

One hint: you should download JOverseer and use it!
It's a tough prog!

Have fun!
