the blind one looked for a pencil....where could I have dropped that he wondered...it certainly wouldn't look good for an all powerful mage to call for help for such a reason..awww...there it is....time to compose my letter....dear neutral freep that responded to my last posting, as I'm sure you are aware I wasn't threatening neutrals either before or after they declared....I think all the tough talkers on our side quit lol...but since you wanted to brag on the number of major towns you have...could you be so kind as to tell me who you are <unless of course you have reasons not too bawwk bawwk> because I could use a few and it sounds like you have more then you need...also could you send directions....in braille preferably..thank you, the blind one akhorahil....now...time for shot of rum and a little disease spreading....who's gonna be feeling a little under the weather this turn..decisions decisions....

Akhorahil sniffed the air <yes he does rarely rely on primitive means of locating people..especially when freeps are involved>, no elves to kill...one can always smell them...guess I'll have to settle for humans....hardly worth the trouble of casting a spell...btw freeps...with us outnumbered two to one for at least ten turns now...why does it feel like your side is starting to lose? am I really drinking too much rum?

blind one 118

Akhorahil walked into the tiny pub in the back water camp located deep in morder..he'd been casting spells that morning and his throat was parched...imagine his suprise when there...sitting at a table in the corner...were trouble and dervorin..both freep agents that had killed minions of mordor in times past...well one might think that the meeting of these three would immediately cause a fight but as everyone thouroughly versed in middle earth lore is aware pubs are sacrade ground and one must wait until leaving the premises before killing his enemy so instead of fighting they had a drink...akhorahil bought the first round...three straight bourbons he told the bartender....shortly thereafter the three glasses were placed before them and with a clink of the rims they gulped down their drinks..well akhorahil did anyway...trouble and dervorin spit theirs back out and hollered at the bartender that they wanted water..."water?" asked akhorahil "are you sure you want to drink the water down here...you really aren't used to it...it could make you sick you know." "don't worry about us" replied trouble "we're tough and free and killers and we aren't afraid of a little water" Trouble and Dervorin were laid to rest at 10 am yesterday morning...a half drunken glass of bourbon and water at their sides

dear sinda...thank you so much for sending your agents to my capital so that I might kill some elves but as I'm sure you are completely aware my characters are all at your capital...could you please send them home now so that I might kill them there? thank you in advance for your cooperation :)...akhorahil

Akhorahil had never been so mad before...it wasn't the money that upset him..it was the fact that the sinda agent had pushed his mother down while grabbing her purse...see what happens when you let free people into your city..law and order breaks down and crime becomes rampant..time to free the poor sinda citizens of this intolerable form of government they suffer under..have no fear citizens of the lands of sinda...we are about to free you of your your burdons...no more will you be required to think or choose for all thinking and choices will be done for you..your life will be simple under the new system about to be put into place...peace and harmony will be yours <it's amazing how easily people can be influenced>...akhorahil <scribed by steven caskey as required by the editor of the middle earth not so free press>...btw..I know the freeps read this thread even if they choose to ignore it lol

the trouble with being blind is sometimes you're talking and nobody else is in the room lol..ok freeps..here's the deal...I'm going to wipe sinda out or at least out of mirkwood <yes it is mirkwood not greenyuckwood>...are you going to stop me or are you going to watch as one nation after another on your side gets decimated?

akhorahil looked around <ok ok...he had his apprentice look around for him>..so much green....these elves had ruined a perfectly good city filling it with..of all things...shrubbery..yes green nasty shrubbery...it's true I tell you...thank badness he brought some help with him...we'll make this place dark and dreary in no time...maybe a name change would be good too...from cerin amroth to blind sorcerer city...nawww...too egotistical and besides...it could piss sauron off...probably best to leave the name the same and just make the place a little more...unlivable? being a nazgul sure makes wording complicated...now what to do with those nasty little elvies running around crying for mercy.....

Greeting Blind One ,

I am playing the S gondor in this game -- sorry i don't write more often but only get around to checking the boards here every now and then !! We knew you where going to emissary away the Sinda capital but now lets see how long you hold it !! Oh and please ask the Cloud lord where he wants the body of Araudagul sent to this coming turn !! Tell him to please feel free to challenge as my whole company there will be refusing and moving out -- so if he wants to send his agents here he will save me the problem of shipping his body back to his capital !!

Mike

blind one 118
27th March 2004, 12:06 PM
well it is regretable about araudagul for sure...we shall mourn his death...but a commander...even a great one like araudagul is no comparison to losing a curse mage <poor meriot>...how many cursers are left on your side now? lol..as far as holding the city...maybe I won't...but that was only the beginning of what shall be a disaster for the sinda..and the woodsman may want to take notice of what happens because he'll probably be next...you have no idea of the power of the dark side mike <in best darth vader voice>...take care...oh..and it was nice of you to give jim that MT but I think I'll assume control of the local government...those horse people just don't patch the streets properly...steve

Blue Knight

Greeting Steve ,

Killing Meriot was a blow to us -- but this is what happens when you have a player that hasn't been talking in about the last 4 turns and then drops and we only got to take over his turns the turn you just happen to kill meriot !! We actually expected it -- so it was no surprise to us !!
James will get another MT from one of us -- and i will gladly knock down your loyalties by taking back the MT i gave him !! Think you will find the players we have left or have replace on our side willing to stick it out now !! As the ones on your side are willing to do -- so i have a feeling we are in for a long game -- longest game i been in has been about 94 turns and was with James -- wonder if we will break that !!
By the way -- James says Hello and speaks very highly of you -- something about you being the glue holding the evils together :) !! Have to see if i can get him to find his way here as he finally got a computer to post for himself -- he will probably use his handle -- Gator !!

Mike

blind one 118
27th March 2004, 04:59 PM
well I have a high impression of jim too but I'm afraid I can't take much credit this game...I started out slow and feel like I've played my poorest game ever...but I'll be trying to make up for it as best I can :) ....and my loytalties...feel free to take them down as low as you can...my people are extremely loyal or I kill them <it's a loyalty advantage us evil people enjoy> and I actually kind of like that idea...I take your pop centers and you knock them down a level taking them back...as far as a long game goes...give up now you have no chance <sorry but the propoganda minister insisted I put that in there lol> and tell jim hi for me if he doesn't make his way on here...steve

Hello Steve,

Believe James might have made it on now -- will have to e-mail him and find out as it says when i signed on Welcome to our newest member -- Gator -- know that is what he calls himself !! The freep people of S gondor also enjoy high loyalties on his pops -- not cause we kill our subjects -- it might have something to do with the free Ale and Women places we have set up all over the lands !! Actually was kind of glad that Araudagul threathened instead of attacking -- please tell him thanks for me !! Will have to make it back to that town eventually and put them straight -- turning to your side on a mear threat with what i provide them and loyalty was in the mid 70's !! Might have to just kill them all as there might be something wrong with them if they don't like all the free ale and woman they can have -- am a little worried about that town -- might like your troll woman or something worse -- kinda gives me the shivers :)!!

Mike

I could be mistaken but I do believe the cloud lord did mention he was taking a troop of scantily clad troll strippers into that town lol <of course if everyone hadn't been so drunk on the free ale that probably wouldn't have worked>

I have not posted in a bit over a year because I realized how poorly I play and did not want to be noticed...then crushed. This has not been my worst game, just my worst where I still lived. For a long time I was amazed at how you DS could continually defeat us with half of our strength in nations. You did a fine job. It was rather depressing. We are very organized now and you are on your way out.

Akhorahil took the young elf...soon to be an orc by the ancient ways...to the balcony overlooking the quiet, unexpecting village below as swarms of dark troops filled the streets, "As you can see my young apprentice..your friends have failed...now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational battle army"

Blue Knight
19th April 2004, 08:40 PM
Steve ,

Like the way you called it a battle army :) -- you are right on the money as your curses squad seems to keep all our armies from reaching this fully armed and operational army !! Guess you gonna make us waste time (and more targets for you) by putting more than one character on our armies !!

Mike

well mike...as sun tzu once said.....the best victory is that which is won before the battle begins...<ok, I don't know if he really said that but if he didn't he should have lol>

Fump was shocked...he had never been on particularly friendly terms with those of mordor..now he had recieved an entire case of sparkling bottled mordor spring water....how kind of them he thought...just a few drinks then off to war...gotta save the free world from those hordes gathering next door....gulp gulp gulp...uh oh...not feeling too good........

ps: this army is just like one of those cartoon snowballs going down the side of a mountain...now are you guys going to try to save sinda?

pps: ok...now I see...all the would be help got killed off by the cloud lord anyway :)

Steve ,

Sorry took me awhile to respond -- for some reason i wasn't logged on anymore and since i am not computer smart took me awhile to figure out how to get my password since i had forgotten it !!

Well , in answer to your PS and PPS message -- The Sinda we feel aren't hurting right now even though you manged to take some pop centers -- if you start revealing his pops then we might get worried !! Not to mention you keep a curses squad with this army -- so have told everyone who is sending any army this way to put more than one character with command on it !!

On your PPS message -- if you are talking about the last turn at the Harad's capital -- well i still feel that i gave better than i got -- i assasinated 4 characters and only lost three to assasinations and even though i lost arty 4 i did get two nice agent arties back from the CL !! The only thing i didn't like about my turn was that I had 3 agents stopped to the CL's one by the damn militia of the pop or would have had three more dead servants of Sauron !!

Oh well seems my luck -- either Bad or even -- hold true for this game also - would like one game where i get at least good -- am not even asking for great :) !!

Am enjoying this game despite this !!

hi Mike...I am the most computer illiterate person who can still manage to turn the machine on at all so I sympathize completely...now as far as revealing sinda pop centers...you don't really think that's a problem for an arch mage do you? It's just a matter of time before I go take out that hidden city...maybe this turn or the next or the next...I have plenty of targets in his area, he has been a busy little pointy eared elf I must say....we're having a blast with this game on our side too...so ok....keep eating popcorn and I'll take out a few more pop centers lol...have a great day...steve

Hello Again Steve ,

Seems like its only you and me posting in this game -- Have talked to James and he said he can only get on as a guest -- so can't post !! James and myself are enjoying this game and right now we have a player who can't continue , due to personal reasons -- so am trying to find friends to replace these two Nations -- which we can't afford to lose and since everyone is playing two nations already and Harly won't let us play a third !! Will keep you informed !!

Mike

lol mike...don't worry about a couple of nations...you'd still have us 10 to 6 anyway.....check your cookie settings jim...I had a posting problem for a long time too and it all went back to not allowing the right cookie <or something like that...I'm puter illiterate and it shows>...say, has that noldo commander made his peace with his maker? <sure hope so for his sake lol>...take it easy...steve

I would Normally agree with you but the problem is with the player who is playing the Noldo and this is one postion right now we can't afford to lose -- if push comes to shove will drop one of mine to take that over !! Think i might have someone to take it over now so am a little relieved !! Bet you would love :) to see this postion go -- get back most of your kidnapped characters !!

Sounds like 'fuzzy math' to me...either that or spin doctoring (or both!). By my count, you freeps lost 4 agents (counting the one who killed himself in failure), AND a hostage, AND two of your survivors were wounded to impotence. Hmmm.

Blue Knight
20th May 2004, 07:12 PM
Ahh -- the Cloud lord does appear !!

Nope -- not fuzzy math at all -- I was only counting assasinated characters and if you look at what i wrote i stated assasinated characters -- not characters killed !! Sounds like a left wing conspiracy is brewing here -- we can go into the definition of what assasinated means :) !!
The character who was released was also a minor one -- only listed as Kingsman !! And the two agents (mainly Cannon fodder )assigned to guard where expected to lose but gather vital info -- mainly a name and now know who is there !! So there is a method to my madness !!

Steve ,

I don't think that person named Caradoc and stated I is the person that took over the Noldo nation -- will ask the Noldo is that is his name on the message boards but am 99% sure it isn't -- left the 1% just in case i am wrong :) -- think it is just a player that is stating he would take a nation over after 50 plus turns !!

Oh and can you ask your team to please leave the Noldo alone for at least this turn and next till we get him up to speed :) !!

Mike

blind one 118
26th May 2004, 11:32 AM
lol mike..yeah I can do that...please team...leave the noldo alone..there..I asked them to...and I tell you what...we won't even kill that army commander this turn just so he has a chance to get settled <hiding crossed fingers behind back> :)

It's easy to leave him alone this turn since he doesn't seem to have anybody in position anyway (well, maybe ONE army cmdr <g>). I'm glad to hear there's going to be another Noldo player; maybe this one will send his cursers and agents out to play!

I can understand Elrond wearing mother-in-law's jewelry and packing her makeup mirror, but why was he wearing her underwear?

Caradoc
18th June 2004, 10:03 PM
Taking the artifacts, that I can understand. However ... scrounging used underwear? Ah, well, different cultures, different customs.

You had a question.

Think on this.

His parents abandoned Elrond. Yes, there was some talk about a mission to save the world, or some such, but they abandoned him. Then Elrond’s brother decided he would rather die, and soon, than share immortality with Elrond.

After that, Elrond’s chosen kin insisted on calling him “half-elven”, no matter how often he reminded them he was 0.625 elven, 1/8th more elven than Eärendil, the run-away father they esteemed so highly.

And it did not help that his children were 0.813 elven, 3/16ths more elven than he, and ready to remind him during any family squabble.

[The matter of his daughter and the descendant of his brother whose “elven-hood” takes more zeros than I have in stock does not enter this tale, as it lies in an alternate future.]

On top of it all, he had to deal with that Telerin geezer, Círdan, the only elf left in Middle Earth old enough to grow a beard.

Yes, Elrond developed some quirks.

One might wonder how a Dark Servant developed expertise in Elven underwear, but I do not ask.

Sure enough, a couple of drunks down there wallowing around in their vomit. Best I could understand between the hiccups and slurring, one of 'em was saying he was gonna kill our pal Naldugarth, so I took care of it how I usually do...

well I wonder why they would want to kill a great guy like him...he even took the rest of that sandwich and gave it to another one of those homeless freeps...granted he died but at least he died with a full belly.....they just have no appreciation for the kindness we show them...free people just seem to be dying everywhere...wonder if they have some sort of fptd <free people transmitted disease>

I hope it kept you from something important.

What were all those pointy-eared elves thinking when they enlisted in the hobbit navy? Everyone knows hobbits are notoriously bad sailors! And I hear an entire fleet mutinied and killed their hobbit-admiral! They were dropping like flies anyway what with the dread diseases from the Corsair brothels and the scurvy because the hobbit officers ate all their lemons (and drank all their watermelon wine).

The only thing I can think of that could have been more important than wiping out 4000 steel-armed and -clad HC in our backfield would have been to curse out Gildor and Elladan, with what, 400 points or more of skill rank between 'em? Oh that's right, we did that too. <g> Btw, the command and stealth artifacts are appreciated.

"Once there was 12, then there were 10. Who will be next?"

It would appear that I have counted my cave trolls before they were hatched. Also, since one of the pointed eared assassins cut off two of my fingers, I have had trouble counting anything over eight. It would seem there are still eleven FP's waiting for our embrace, not ten as previously announced. (and, this thread has dropped too far down)

The family trifecta is complete, first Elrond, then Elladan, now Elrohir. Arwen must be so sad. Those elves need to quit hanging out on the wrong side of the tracks. I heard Elrohir got a fork in the side of his neck while leaving a quaint little diner specializing in Haradrim Cuisine.

You guys probably have no idea how on the ropes the QA position was about 15 or 20 turns ago, i.e. right before we put the blitzkrieg on Umbar. Now you have QA navies on the offensive in SG and CL armies sacking the remnants of NG (the foliage in Pelargir is spectacular this time of year!). You should never have let up, but then again, I guess that was the previous Noldo player who had a functioning curse squad at the time...

Morarthdur watched the dirty little dwarves digging up the ancient dwarven gravesite with some interest....surely they weren't bringing back the dead...he'd been working on that fro decades...no half witted dwarf could have figured it out. "you there..slime with the shovel...what do you think you're doing?" The gritty gungy pox faced dwarf looked up in trepidation "master...we are getting coffins...the dead don't pay rent but the recently dead do have friends that'll pay to have them buried. Morarthdur wasn't suprised that the coffins were needed....his agents had instructions to stab in any direction...you'll hit a freep

You would still have us outnumbered by 3 or 4 nations, as we've been down to 6 for quite some time. I would urge you all to play on! Surely you guys could come up with someone else to pick up the drop?

We won't have you outnumbered by no more than 2 nations then -- with you haveing all the curses squads -- just doesn't pay then -- person that dropped is running two nations as we all are now !! You try finding someone to pick up a nation way in on turn 60 and getting them up to speed -- found someone when person running Noldo and Duns dropped -- not gonna be this easy to find someone else !! Should be a new rule that once a game starts a person can pick up as many nations as he or she wants !!

Has been fun so far -- by the way how many assasinations does the CL have under his belt -- lost count of mine -- know he gets a tally -- my CL game lasted till turn 96 and i had over 137 kills !!

Mike,

Put a post out on the yahoo mepbmlist, I betcha you'll have several interested parties reply...I would hate for this awesome game to end because of drops. Btw, of the original 10 DS players and the 2 newts who went evil, there are only 2 of us 12 left. We've had one position go through 2 replacement players, still in the game.

Drew

P.S. I'll probably get my 137th kill this turn. <g>

Drop the game! What silliness! If it was a game of chess I would gladly switch sides with you and play on. I would agree with the advice from the 137 kill CL, post up and bring someone in. Not only do you have us outnumbered but by playing two postions each you have had additional advantage. Also, we do come out to play when properly invited. The FP's took out three of the precious few cursers left in the game recently. My personal beef with you mass dropping is that I have spent the last 20 turns recovering from the massive charcter losses, the taking of my capital, backup captial and backup backup catpital. :D So, I am just now being able to send out an army to play as SG can attest. Anyway, stay and play as the LR is being trounced by the Arthedain & Cardolan alliance. Stay tuned as LR retreats to his island fortress, after sacking Esgorth first, that is.
Later,

Dog

Is there a Spanish ulcer in the White mountains, growing? Remember that Ingar contrived the conquest of Umbar. And I guess Longshanks didn't get the memo about Elrohir and that quaint Haradrim diner in Caras Mirilond, it's just not safe in that neighborhood. Was Rosie Cotton in town looking for a job as a cocktail waitress? She might put in her application at the Osgiliath kitchens, or better yet, send her on down to the Umbar brothels, I'm sure they could make some use of her...

Mike, I am thinking that you are SG. This turn, CL picked up the rumor that Cosairs have collasped. So now you are at 10 nations. NG is crippled as we have taken (at least once) every NG starting pop centers. I will take a wild guess here and speculate that the NG and X player is dropping. Perhaps you would be able to land a player for the X position and let NG go away. Most of the FP positions are untouched except for charcter losses, and heck, who has not lost the vast majority of starting charcters. ( I still have tears in my eyes when I think of LORD MARSHALL BULRAKR being assasss by an 80 agent) I would think that Noldo, SG, Cardolan and Arthedain are "super" positons is all areas. WM and Sinda have a few bumps and brusies, but not bad. Dwarves have been hurt badly and NG is crippled beyond repair. Anyway, I would find intrest in this game as a FP if not already in it. If you have an opening in the future like this, LMK. Best of luck in 118 if you continue to play. And if not, best of luck in the next ME game.

The citizens of Dol Amroth see the black sails in the harbor, and know the time of their doom is nigh. It is sad to see a once mighty kingdom like Gondor fall, but alas fall they must, as old powers are shoved aside in favor of the new; the old Prince of Dol Amroth has given way to the new Prince of Belfalas, Ingar the Great. He is the Man on the Silver Mountain, the new seat of government for all the South, vastly fortified in the snowcapped peaks of the White Mountains, for the lands formerly known as Gondor, Harondor, and Umbar.

Sorry guys, I just had to share this with the Forum:

Erennis was located in the Open Plains at 1815.
He was ordered to assassinate a character.
He killed Aurwanger of the Dwarves and thwarted his guard mission.
He killed Hlewangur of the Dwarves and thwarted his guard mission.
He killed Windalf of the Dwarves and thwarted his guard mission.
He killed Witur of the Dwarves and thwarted his guard mission. Yarin was
assassinated.

Drukarzun:

I say, you have nothing to be sorry about. Erennis had a good turn and your expression of that is wholly appropriate.

While the fallen did not approach the skill that might be expected of a starting character after 80+ turns, neither were they new characters without effective skills.

It would be interesting to compare their skills going into turn 82.

After 118 ends, of course.
