I'm not sure if anyone here uses this blog feature of the Middle-earth PBM forum or not, but I thought that I would give it a try. Although I registered here a few years ago, I only visit the forum, here, very infrequently. I don't really have an interest in disrupting the forum, but I did want to pause long enough to extend my personal best wishes to the site users and administrators, here, for each and every last one of you to have a safe and pleasant holiday season.

The Christmas season is well under way, and the countdown has long since begun. It's been a long, long time, since I last played Middle-earth PBM. GSI was running it, back when I gave it a try.

Last month, we (PlayByMail.Net) began publishing a new PBM magazine. More specifically, it's focus is upon PBM games, specifically, and turn-based games, in general. I would like to extend a personal invitation to all current Middle-earth PBM players to consider writing articles or reviews that pertain to the game, and submitting them to me for inclusion in any future issue.

We are aiming for a monthly rate of publication (Yes, you read that right). For any who might be interested, a free copy of issue # 1 in PDF format can be obtained from the following link:

As far as my own limited time spent playing Middle-earth PBM, to the best of my recollection, I tried my hand at two games of it. These were both 1650 games, one as the Witch-king and the other as Hoarmurath. I even have a few copies of the old Whispers of the Wood. I remember writing some messages for it, and a poem of sorts. I think that I titled it, "The Night before Sauron," But, I could be wrong on that.

I hope that I don't ruffle any feathers by posting this here. I figured that this was probably more out of the way than creating a forum thread, proper.

May you all enjoy your holidays, and may the spirit of Christmas shine deep within your hearts, lighting your way to and through the coming new year!

An early merry Christmas to each and every one of you!
